Your Wedding Ceremony Decor Checklist

From the witty little sign that greets your guests, to the sweet flower girl that makes your guests smile – every part of your wedding is unique to you. Your wedding is about you and your partner and your wedding decor should match that too. The little extra touches are what make your wedding all about you.

In this blog post we would like to look at wedding decor. There are so many different parts of wedding decor, some you will have seen at a friend’s wedding, others that you have seen in your favourite films and others you may not have even dreamed of.

Thinking About Your Theme

When planning your wedding ceremony decor the first thing you need to think about is a theme or colour. Some people will have a favourite colour while others will want to bring their favourite football team colours into the wedding. However, some happy couples just want a vintage wedding, a carnival theme or a rustic feel for example.

Once you have chosen your theme you can create your wedding ceremony decor checklist. Start by picturing your venue. Will it be clear from when guests arrive where they need to go? If not then you may want to consider a sign. You also need to think about where you want guests to sit. Are you happy for people to sit where they want or would you prefer groom and bride family to sit on either side?

The Key Is In The Detail

How will the venue look? What will you put on the table where you sign the marriage certificate? Is this just a simple white table cloth and your bouquet or would you like a stunning starlight backdrop or flower wall behind you? Will the aisle have a runner and what will your seats look like? If you are having the ceremony and breakfast at the same venue will you have the same chair styles or would different chair covers and sashes work better in one room that the other?

Think about where you will be having photos during and after your ceremony. While many of us dream of gorgeous sunshine that is lovely and warm, in England that isn’t always possible. If you have photos inside where will they be and what will they look like. You may want to consider your backdrop, like the flower wall or starlight backdrop we suggested. Alternatively, an archway to frame you and your loved one as the ceremony commences.
